Who We Are

Relative Strength (relativestrength.com.au) provides ASX stock analysis tools for Australian traders. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What We Collect
  • Account details. Your email address and a password (stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or see your actual password). Your account preferences: theme, timezone, export format, and newsletter subscription status.
  • Content you create. Watchlists, chart settings, forum posts, and messages you send us.
  • Usage information. Pages you visit while signed in (path, timing, referring page), used to understand which features matter and to improve the product.
  • Security information. The IP address and browser user-agent of sign-ins and sessions, including an approximate location derived from the IP address, used to detect suspicious account activity.
  • Payment status. If paid plans are available and you subscribe, we record your plan and subscription status. Card details never touch our servers — payments are processed by Stripe, and your card number is held by Stripe, not us.

We do not collect more than we need: no real names, addresses, phone numbers, or identity documents are required to use the site.

How We Use It
  • To operate your account and the features you use.
  • To send you the emails described below.
  • To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
  • To understand aggregate feature usage and improve the product.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described in this policy.
Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Session cookie. Essential — keeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out.
  • Theme cookie. Remembers your light/dark preference for up to one year.
  • Google Analytics cookies. Used by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors (see below).

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site remains usable, but you will need to sign in again and re-select your theme.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic in aggregate — pages visited, approximate location, and device type. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes this data under Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email

We send two kinds of email: transactional messages (password resets, account invitations, message notifications) and the weekly newsletter. New accounts are subscribed to the newsletter by default.

Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time from your account settings. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter only — transactional messages about your account still arrive.

Email is delivered through a third-party email delivery provider, which processes your email address for that purpose. We disable open- and click-tracking on our email.

Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep personal information only while your account is active or as needed to run the service. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings: deletion takes effect immediately — your sessions are terminated and your account can no longer be used or signed in to.

Residual copies of data (such as server logs and database backups) are removed on rotation; server logs are retained for 90 days. If you want your personal information erased ahead of those schedules, contact us using the details below.

Access, Correction & Contact

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Signed-in users can contact us through the in-app message system; anyone — including former account holders — can use our contact form. No account is required.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can escalate it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
